Using Data

Improving API documentation

Example of easier to follow API documentation:

http://developer.usatoday.com/docs/read/Census

Versus no coded variable definitions on the page:

https://www.census.gov/developers/data/

All the needed content is in this presentation, but it was not intuitive to click on it since it refers to a specific event: https://www.census.gov/developers/NDoCH_Support_Slides.pdf Maybe rename it "ACS API Handbook"? Great great stuff in there.

While more documentation is always preferred to less, it is at a cost. I vote for putting all available resources into capability development; eg, geocoding functionality rather than documentation; many others. Others can develop documentation but only Census can improve/extend Census API features and functionality.
